Doctors need more drugs training - BBC - 22/01/2008

Trainee doctors are not being given adequate training about the "complex" range of drugs available, a leading pharmacologist has told MPs.

Professor David Webb of Edinburgh University said the vast majority of newly qualified doctors are unsure about giving medicines to patients.

The General Medical Council, which oversees doctors' training, said it was reviewing the area.

But it said doctors had asked for more practical prescribing help.

Dementia strategy to bring extra training for GPs - The Pulse - 03/02/2009

GP's will get extra training in early diagnosis and management of dementia as part of the Government's £150 million national strategy to improve treatment of the condition, ministers announced today.

The much-trailed Department of Health strategy will also see ‘memory clinics' staffed by specialists set up across the country.

Hope you are all progressing with your assignments. I have a very tidy office area but have done very little work! It is really hard to get started.

I think I am beginning to get some idea of what I am supposed to be doing but just need to deliver some work!!!

This is my first blog! I don''t think I like having homework to do again. Not sure if all adults (personally speaking) are self motivated in self improvement (CLAYTON 2008)... sure someone theorised that but not sure who yet so shall claim it for myself...
